Current Opportunities with Homeward

  • Annual Point-In-Time Counts - Sheltered and unsheltered men, women and children experiencing homelessness in our region are counted (adults are also surveyed) twice a year to help our region monitor the number and demographics of people experiencing this crisis. Volunteers assist by conducting surveys and participating in outreach teams. 40-60 volunteers are typically needed for each event in January and July.
  • Project Homeless Connect - This annual event matches clients with volunteers in a one-of-a-kind partnership to assist chronically homeless adults connect to as many on-site services as possible in one day. The goal for the event, and its high level of volunteer involvement, is to eliminate some of the barriers people experience as they seek to access the very services that might help them start the return journey to stable lives. 400-500 volunteers are needed to partner with 400-500 clients. The next Project Homeless Connect is scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2008.
