This conference offers a series of workshops highlighting innovative programming from other communities that are working to prevent and end homelessness. While our agencies work collaboratively to address the needs of the clients they serve, we are interested in learning what other communities are doing in order to improve our regional offerings.

Children & Trauma
Helping children deal with trauma, minimizing the impact of trauma on children with early interventions, working with families to address trauma, programmatic processes and policies to minimize impacts of trauma, shelters as a protective factor, and addressing homelessness as a traumatic experience.
Client Engagement: From Outreach to Discharge
Overview of techniques that can enhance client engagement and when is it appropriate to use each type of engagement strategy- street outreach, intake/assessment, case management, discharge
Using Data to Manage Programs
The presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of local homelessness data sources that service providers can use to manage and improve programs. The workshop will include a 30 minute overview of the Homeward Community Information System (HCIS) and the semi-annual Point-In-Time Count, a 30 minute overview of reports that are created from HCIS and PIT data, a 30 minute discussion on additional question modules from PIT and HCIS, a 30 minute overview on useful client level outcomes with a discussion of outcomes participants are interested in tracking for their own programs, a 30 minute overview of community-level outcomes used to assess progress on the Ten Year Plan and HUD program outcomes, and a discussion on how organizations can measure program and client level outcomes.
