National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day
National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day
Each year since 1990, on or near the first day of winter and the longest night of the year, the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) has sponsored National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day to bring attention to the tragedy of homelessness and to remember our homeless friends who have passed away while seeking services.
This year Homeward will host a memorial service on December 21, at 5:00 p.m., the first day of winter and the longest night of the year, to remember those locally who died without homes and to remember why they died. The service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 815 East Grace Street.
Join us as we recommit ourselves to ending homelessness in our community.
